Job description

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional and detail-oriented individual for our Property Maintenance Specialist I - Custodial position. This is a part-time, swing shift position, Tuesday - Friday (6:00 pm - 10:00 pm) with some weekends and the starting wage is $21.50 per hour. Third shift positions will have a pay differential of $1.75. If you are looking for an opportunity to work with an experienced team for a growing company, then this position is for you!

As a Property Maintenance Specialist I - Custodial, a typical day might include the following:

  • With close guidance, perform daily custodial maintenance duties of basic complexity including but not limited to sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, mopping, trash removal, and appropriate response to requests as needed.
  • Assist with routine floor care including stripping, sealing/waxing hard floors, carpet spotting, and extraction.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; perform routine maintenance as requested.
  • Follow and continuously improve workplace safety, environmental practices, area processes, and waste reduction opportunities.

This job might be for you if you:

  • Are highly motivated and consider yourself a go getter.
  • Have experience operating custodial related equipment and/or applicable chemicals, supplies, hand and power tools.
  • Are able reach, bend, grip, twist, stand for at least 8 hours, and lift and maneuver 40 pounds frequently.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

Pay Range Data

New hires generally start at $21.50 per hour. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
