Job description

Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Loss Prevention Associate to join our client in Islandia, NY! This individual is responsible for detecting, reporting, and resolving matters related to safety, inventory shortages, and theft while providing customer service in accordance with company standards. The ideal candidate has previous loss prevention experience.

Pay, Schedule, and Location
  • Starting up to $19.75/hour, paid weekly
  • Excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision
  • Full Time Schedule
  • Located in Islandia, NY
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveillance to detect and apprehend theft
  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to maintain physical security and protect company assets
  • Monitor closed-circuit television systems, when applicable
  • Enforce company standards related to security and safety procedures
  • Participate in training new associates on loss prevention practices
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly store audits
  • Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to key holders on duty
  • Ensure physical security by controlling access of associates and visitors while maintaining a visitor control log
  • Participate in the distribution center's loss prevention and safety programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy
  • Ability to accurately perceive and assess situations
  • Ability to maintain fair and consistent standards while exercising sound judgment and discretion
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
  • Ability to work varied hours and shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as neede
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and follow-through skills
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, see and hear activity within the store, and perform all required job functions
  • Prior Loss Prevention experience required
  • Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent, with relevant certifications and/or experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to traverse and access all areas of a warehouse environment
  • Working in a Distribution Center environment with a variation of temperatures
  • Ability to maintain a fair, consistent set of standards, using judgment and discretion
  • Maintain records and documentation
  • Operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and follow-through skills
