Job description

Job Title: Regional Sourcing Manager

Location: Remote/Hybrid - USA

Reports to: Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager

Position Summary

The Regional Sourcing Manager is responsible for building in-depth relationships with the vendor partners across Rubicon’s network. Reporting to the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will play a crucial role in building Rubicon’s competitive advantage through vendor evaluation and sourcing for a defined region.

This role works cross functionally with Account Management operations, Sales, Solutions, Contract Data Management, and Key Account Projects teams to support the delivery of exceptional customer service through vendor sourcing. You will also collaborate with external vendor partners to encourage them to become strategic partners. Your goal will be to ensure Rubicon receives the best service at the lowest possible price within its expansive vendor network.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement strategic partnerships with vendors to meet customer waste management needs.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement and reprocurement process for new and existing services, optimizing service quality and cost effectiveness to meet the strategic needs of Rubicon and Key Accounts.
  • Support both Sales and Account teams in making efforts to procure or reprocure services through vendor communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the waste and recycling industry.
  • Monitor and improve vendor performance for Rubicon along a balanced scorecard through relationship building and negotiating.
  • Drive vendor partner adoption of Rubicon’s innovative programs and hauler solutions(ex: hauler smartphone application/ joint buying programs).
  • Make data-driven decisions on allocation of customer locations to vendor partners based on their performance along a balanced scorecard.
  • Analyze and assist in reporting on and communicating the financial benefit of the supply chain & procurement efforts internally and towards vendor partners.
  • Ability to travel and/or work onsite as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This job has supervisory responsibilities, including the direct oversight of Regional Sourcing Team Leads and Associates.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team through hiring, onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development.
  • Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations; ensure accountability for results.
  • Manage team workload, prioritize assignments, and ensure delivery of high-quality work on time.
  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance management to support growth and address gaps.
  • Foster a positive, engaged team culture that promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with HR to ensure compliance with company policies and effectively manage employee matters.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required.
  • 5+ years of experience in vendor partner management with a track record of vendor performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in working cross functionally to support vendor evaluation and selection, based on client/customer needs.
  • Ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and drive through to resolution independently.
  • Experience in developing, training, and coaching others in a cooperative and engaging manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of vendor management.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness in handling sensitive information and supporting high-level strategic initiatives.
  • Travel and/or onsite work will be on an as needed basis.
