Job description

Finance Analyst - HHS

We are looking for eager, driven candidates with experience in people management, communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and analysis to guide our teams in developing impactful solutions for our Federal clients.. The Finance Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing financial data to support the bureau's budgetary processes. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting procedures, and federal regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, monitoring, and executing the agency's budget. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Budget Execution
  • Manage billing processes for HHS Operating Divisions (OpDivs).
  • Enter and track expenditure on the budget tool, manage the HHS wide software purchases, and validate charges.
  • Develop financial reports and provide cost analysis.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and support budget planning activities.
  • Ensure financial data accuracy and integrity.
  • Responsible for maintaining all HHS wide purchases and ensure all information is accurate in the Vendor Management Office Development Tool.
Financial Analysis
  • Conduct financial analysis to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of agency programs and operations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend budget adjustments to optimize resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making.
Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, agency policies, and accounting standards.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including budget execution reports, financial statements, and performance metrics.
  • Respond to audits and inquiries from oversight agencies.

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in budget analysis or financial management
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting federal clients
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
  • Strong understanding of federal financial management regulations, including OMB Circular A-11.
  • Technology Business Management (TBM) experience or certifications.

The Fine Print
  • The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
  • Expected travel 0-10%; may increase based on business needs
  • This is an exempt, full-time position
  • This role is subject to a hybrid work schedule in the Washington D.C.

    • Light Carrying: Physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another
