Job description

The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. transforms the lives of people who are blind, DeafBlind, and blind with other disabilities. Through employment opportunities, we are a catalyst for empowerment. We foster self-confidence and instill a life changing affirmation that independence is possible. From our expertise in cutting-edge technology to our understanding of mobility, we help people who are blind and DeafBlind live fulfilling lives.
We believe everyone, no matter their vision abilities, deserves to experience the power of employment. Our goal for each person we reach is to ignite a fire of determination that is centered on the reality that blindness doesn't define who you are or how you choose to live.
We are currently seeking a person who identifies strongly with our mission and core values to join our team as (in-house) Recruiter. The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 1-2 years full-cycle recruiting experience as an in-house recruiter. If you are a person with high energy who is tech savvy, highly innovative, with the ability to adapt and thrive in a changing environment, we would like to learn more about you.
Purpose:
The Recruiter manages full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions while delivering an excellent experience to candidates and internal partners while serving as a champion of The Lighthouse mission. This role is well suited for a recruiting professional with established in-house recruiting experience who is ready to take ownership of recruiting activities, deepen their expertise, and grow within a mission-driven organization.
Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions, including intake, sourcing, applicant review, screening interviews, interview coordination, selection support, offers, and pre-employment activities.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand position requirements, workforce needs, candidate profiles, and recruiting priorities.
• Working closely with the Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition, execute creative sourcing and outreach strategies through job boards, professional networks, social media, community partnerships, referrals, and other appropriate channels.
Conduct candidate screening interviews by telephone, video, and other appropriate methods, assessing qualifications against established position requirements.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for candidate inquiries, independently managing recruiting-related telephone calls and emails and providing timely, professional responses.
Manage multiple recruiting priorities and candidate processes simultaneously in a complex, regulated environment, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency without sacrificing quality, accuracy, or service.
• Maintain accurate and timely candidate documentation and dispositioning within the Applicant Tracking System.
Assist in building relationships and talent pipelines through candidates, community partners, referral sources, job fairs, recruiting events, and outreach activities.
• Support The Lighthouse's mission-focused hiring initiatives, including outreach designed to expand employment opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired.
• Track recruiting activity and metrics and identify practical opportunities to improve sourcing, outreach, candidate engagement, and recruiting processes.
• Champion and support The Lighthouse mission.
• Stay informed about recruiting trends, sourcing practices, labor-market conditions, and talent acquisition best practices.
• Travel occasionally; this may include day or overnight travel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum of one year of full-cycle, in-house (corporate) recruiting experience required; 2-3 years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience preferred.
• Experience recruiting within a nonprofit, mission-driven, government-contractor, manufacturing, or similarly complex organization preferred.
Associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated experience with sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate management, and hiring-process coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage assigned requisitions and multiple candidate processes in a complex, regulated environment.
Creative and resourceful problem-solver who demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to explore new approaches to recruiting challenges.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer-service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with candidates and internal and external partners.
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and databases; experience with an Applicant Tracking System or other recruiting technology required. (Paycom experience a plus)
• Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities with timely follow-through and strong attention to detail.
• Sound judgment and discretion when handling candidate and employee information.
• Demonstrated passion for The Lighthouse mission and interest in working within a mission-driven organization.
• Ability to work schedule as assigned.
Company benefits may include:
  • 12 Paid Holidays per year
  • Up to 17 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year
  • Medical, Dental, and vision plans
  • Long-term and short-term disability, AD&D
  • Life Insurance
  • 403(b) Retirement Plan with 6% employer match
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Team Member Referral Bonus Program
  • Paid Leave for Service Animal Training
  • Focus on Upward Mobility
  • Inclusive and Supportive Team Environment
