Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to understand clients’ mental and emotional health, utilizing standardized tools and methodologies appropriate to the individual’s needs.
• Develop tailored treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and client feedback, applying integrated therapeutic approaches to individuals, groups, and families.
• Collaborate extensively with multidisciplinary teams, including case managers and psychiatrists, to coordinate care and ensure that each client receives holistic, well-rounded support.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention services to clients experiencing acute distress, employing de-escalation techniques and empathetic support.
• Engage in community outreach and educational programs aimed at raising awareness around mental health issues, thereby reducing stigma and promoting treatment accessibility.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will serve a diverse clientele, including individuals from various ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The role emphasizes building rapport and trust with clients, particularly in our hospice center environment where sensitivity and compassion are paramount. Qualifications

• A valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) is required.
• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field must be completed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated cultural competence and adaptability when working with individuals from a wide range of life experiences.
• Organizational skills and proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation are essential.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in hospice or palliative care settings, with an emphasis on providing mental health support to seriously ill patients and their families.
• Familiarity with therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or trauma-informed care approaches.
• Prior involvement in community outreach or advocacy for mental health awareness initiatives is highly desired.

Compensation and Benefits
