Quality Control Inspector- Under a Microscope
Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm

We are excited to share a new opportunity for a Quality Control Inspector located in Santa Clara! This position is highly sought after and might not be available for long.
Quality Control Inspector Job Duties include:
- Perform Detailed Microscopic Inspection: Conduct high-magnification visual inspections of flexible, rigid-flex, and multi-layer circuits using stereo microscopes to detect ultra-fine defects.
- Identify Micro-Defects: Identify and evaluate critical defects down to the micron level, including trace/space anomalies (down to 10 μm), micro-via misalignments, solder joint integrity, surface finish inconsistencies (ENIG, ENEPIG), and contamination.
- Verify Component Compliance: Inspect Surface Mount Technology (SMT) component placement, orientation, and solder fillets against strict engineering drawings and industry blueprints.
- Document and Log Results: Accurately record inspection findings, track yield data, and generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) within the quality management database.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with production operators and engineering teams to provide immediate feedback on recurring micro-defects, facilitating rapid quick-turn prototype adjustments.
- Uphold Regulatory Standards: Ensure all inspected products comply with company workflows, customer specifications, and external standards (ISO 9001 and ISO 13485).
- Other duties as assigned
Quality Control Inspector Preferred Skills include:
- Certifications: Current or recent certification in IPC-A-610 or IPC-6013 is highly desirable.
- Regulated Industry Experience: Prior experience inspecting electronics under ISO 13485 (Medical Devices) or aerospace quality management frameworks.
- Advanced Technology Familiarity: Experience inspecting Ultra-High-Density Interconnects (HDI) or working alongside Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and X-ray inspection equipment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive mindset with a proven ability to identify defect trends and suggest minor process tweaks to boost yield.
Quality Control Inspector Requirements may include:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent trade school certificate.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience performing microscopic visual inspection within an electronics manufacturing, PCB fabrication, or semiconductor environment.
- Industry Standards: Solid foundational knowledge of IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) or IPC-6013 (Qualification and Performance Specification for Flexible Printed Boards).
- Physical Stamina & Focus: Ability to maintain intense visual focus and sit for extended periods looking through a microscope while maintaining high accuracy.
- Fine Motor Skills: Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity required to safely handle delicate, ultra-thin flexible materials without causing damage.
- Technical Literacy: Basic computer proficiency for data entry, defect logging, and interacting with digital quality tracking systems.
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
