Austin PBS is a community-supported public media organization serving Central Texas through educational, cultural, and locally focused programming. This is an evergreen job posting for Production Assistant roles. While we may not have an immediate opening, we are always interested in connecting with qualified candidates for future production needs.


About the Role

Production Assistants provide technical and operational support for studio and field productions. Working closely with producers, directors, and engineering staff, this role helps ensure Austin PBS content is produced to high professional and public media standards.


What You’ll Do
  • Support live and recorded productions in studio and on location
  • Assist with operation of cameras, lighting, audio, and video equipment
  • Perform a variety of production roles as assigned
  • Help with studio setup, scenic work, and equipment care
  • Collaborate with cross-functional production teams


Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Working knowledge of television or media production equipment
  • Ability to monitor audio and video quality
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Availability that can flex with production schedules
Nice to Have
  • Experience in television, film, or digital media production
  • Experience supporting live or multi-camera productions
  • Interest in public media and community storytelling
