Purpose and Impact:
Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team of passionate individuals in Ft. Meade, MD. In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the Nation's security and intelligence mission.
Work Schedule: M-F, 8 hours a day
Essential Responsibilities:
Endpoint services is seeking a Software Engineer to work with a team of developers to implement new capabilities in support of the current classification marking tool and the tool to be used to support M365 web based applications. The position involves full life cycle design, development, testing, and documentation of policy-driven software across multiple fabrics. The focus will include the extension and customization of tools used for classification string validation and comparison for access control. Experience in JavaScript is required. The developer is expected to have experience with requirements elicitation. The developer should be able to work collaboratively, within an existing team. The candidate will be expected to provide input throughout the software lifecycle.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Must be able to work in a collaborative environment. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
  • Have working knowledge of JavaScript, Jest, and Cypress
  • Working knowledge of JIRA and Gitlab
  • Experience performing code reviews
  • Ability to work directly with customers
  • Troubleshooting skills

DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Gather, analyze, and capture customer requirements
  • Adhere to development processes the team has established
  • Assist in the development of requirements for new features and fix defects
  • Create and expand unit tests
  • Track and respond to user issues/questions

Clearance Required:
  • TS/SCI with poly

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in computer engineering or in a field related to computer engineering or computer science disciplines. An additional 4 years of Software Engineering experience may be substituted for the degree for a total of 7 years.

Minimum Years of Experience:
  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience
