Job description

The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experience. Work assignments expose students to many of the company's products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity. 

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a rotating position. The individual filling this position at any given time may assist with:

  • Plant Finance Operations - Saginaw
  • Financial Planning and Analysis - Saginaw
  • Accounts Receivable - Saginaw
  • Business Line Financial Analysis - Saginaw
  • Fixed Assets - Saginaw
  • Corporate Tax - Saginaw
  • Prototype Center - Saginaw

Required skills:

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to understand complex and integrated processes
  • Ability to work with cross functional, global teams
  • Ability to Multi-task and plan effectively
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • Establish understanding of internal and external applications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Requirements:

  • Pursuing Bachelor of Business in Finance or Accounting
  • Full time student at a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw
  • Candidate must be able to work onsite, in Saginaw, MI
  • Ability to work onsite 20 - 32 hours per week during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week when school is not in session
  • Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Must maintain full time credits (12 credit hours) during fall and winter semesters
