The ideal candidate is driven by a passion for enhancing mental health access and improving client outcomes through empathetic and effective therapy solutions.

About the Organization

Native Health Center is a community health clinic committed to providing comprehensive and culturally sensitive healthcare to the diverse population of Houston. Our team is dedicated to bridging gaps in mental health services and supporting clients as they navigate their mental wellness journeys. Within a culture that embraces autonomy, flexibility, creativity, and determination, we focus on fostering an environment where therapists can thrive professionally and personally.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule, which is typically Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. As an LMFT, you will enjoy the independence of managing your own caseload while being supported by a collaborative team that values humor, compassion, and authenticity in their therapeutic approaches. Working at Native Health Center means being part of a close-knit, supportive, and transparent team committed to mental health excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Native Health Center, you will:

  • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and create tailored treatment plans based on client needs and goals.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions—using telehealth modalities when necessary—to ensure accessibility for your clients.
  • Maintain a caseload of approximately 25-30 client visits per week, delivering high-quality therapeutic care while adhering to documentation standards set by the organization.
  • Prepare and submit detailed clinical documentation, including diagnosis assessments (DAs), treatment plans, and case notes, in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with case managers, families, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care and effectively address clients' needs.
  • Engage in creative therapeutic interventions that empower clients to achieve and exceed their therapeutic goals.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal LMFT will work with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, couples, and families facing various mental health challenges. Your ability to demonstrate understanding and sensitivity in working with individuals from multiple backgrounds will be crucial to fostering trust and meaningful progress in therapy.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Strong understanding of family therapy services, community resources, and fee collection procedures at the time of service.
  • Proven experience in completing diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, and clinical case notes.
  • A background in working with children, adolescents, couples, and families, demonstrating effective communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
  • The ability to establish and model healthy boundaries with clients to foster a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check as part of the hiring process.
Preferred Experience

While not required, candidates with the following experiences or skills will be prioritized:

  • Familiarity with telehealth technology for remote client sessions.
  • Experience in utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Previous involvement in case management or interdisciplinary team collaboration.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 90,000 and 110,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additionally, Native Health Center provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • A customizable compensation structure, including hourly pay and commission on claims.
  • A generous unlimited time-off policy encompassing holidays, sick days, and personal vacations.
  • Medical insurance coverage and 401k options for long-term planning.
  • Paid supervision, case consultations, and dedicated time for documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Reimbursement support for clinical license renewal fees.
