This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the mental health and well-being of clients within a school setting in San Diego, California. With a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $105,000 per year, this role is crucial for supporting our diverse clientele and fostering a healing environment.

About the Organization

Native Health Center is committed to providing exceptional mental health support tailored to a diverse population. Our team of professionals creates a nurturing atmosphere where clients can experience personal growth and empowerment. We believe in a holistic approach to mental health, addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals from various backgrounds. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our clients through effective therapeutic interventions.

Work Environment

This role is fully remote, enabling you to work from the comfort of your own home while engaging directly with clients and team members via digital platforms. Our organization champions a flexible and supportive work culture, where you can thrive professionally while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Collaborating virtually with fellow specialists, educators, and administration staff, you will contribute to an integrated approach to mental health care in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, you will engage in a range of essential activities, including:

  • Acting as a liaison between families, children, and outpatient providers to facilitate effective communication and care coordination.
  • Interfacing with insurance providers to manage pre-certification requirements and oversee utilization management, ensuring clients receive needed services.
  • Taking an active role in discharge and aftercare planning to support clients' transitions from more intensive treatment settings.
  • Providing therapeutic meal support, promoting healthy relationships with food and wellness.
  • Delivering empathetic and affirming care, tailoring your approach to meet the unique intersecting identities and situations of each client.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our focus is on serving eclectic populations, which include students from diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly those who may face additional barriers to accessing mental health resources. The successful candidate will be skilled in addressing the needs of young adults and children, creating a safe space for them to express challenges related to school, family dynamics, and personal development.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of a valid LCSW license in California.
  • Experience working directly with older adults and children is essential for effectively addressing a wide range of mental health concerns.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, demonstrating an ability to assess and formulate treatment plans.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with clients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while contributing to a team-focused environment.
Preferred Experience

While the above qualifications are essential, candidates with additional experience in school-based mental health settings, trauma-informed care, or familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems will be prioritized. Familiarity with culturally responsive practices that honor the identities of diverse clients will also be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $105,000 annually, Native Health Center offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with employer matching and flexible spending options.
  • Life insurance and various options for short-term disability coverage.
  • Continuous professional development opportunities and peer supervision to support career advancement.
