Who We Are:CreativeHub 1352 is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing creative people together to strengthen arts, culture, and community in Mississauga. Through collaborations with local partners, we offer a diverse range of year-round programs in the arts, heritage, and environmental stewardship and education, engaging people from across the city and beyond.Our journey began with the Lakeview Legacy Community Foundation, later known as the Small Arms Society, which led the successful effort in 2008 to save the historic Small Arms Inspection Building (SAIB) from demolition. Since 2018, CreativeHub 1352 has worked with the City of Mississauga to transform this landmark into a vibrant community hub. As the building's lead tenant and key partner, we continue to expand our programming days each year, bringing our creative vision to life in this unique and historic space.Role of Director at Large:The CreativeHub 1352 Director at Large is a voting member of the Board of Directors and appointed in a manner consistent with the bylaws of the organization. CreativeHub 1352's Director at Large works collaboratively with the Board of Directors, volunteers, and staff to support CreativeHub 1352. All Directors serve 2 year terms, with the possibility of renewal, up to six years total on the Board of CreativeHub 1352. Areas of Responsibility:The Director at Large works closely with CreativeHub 1352 Board and staff, with the following responsibilities: Serves as an active member and representative of the Board of Directors; Actively promotes and articulates the Mission and Vision of CreativeHub 1352; Support of and participation in special events, programs, and initiatives specified by the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and sub-committees, namely: heritage projects, environmental initiatives, and the craft beer festival; Undertakes special one-time projects or ongoing projects for the community with the approval of the Board of Directors; Fulfil other general Board duties as required. Qualifications: A commitment to the organisation's mission and strategic directions; Demonstrated experience in developing community programming and collaborating with community partners on large-scale events and programs, namely in the heritage and environmental sectors; Knowledge and/or experience in the Mississauga arts, heritage, and environmental scene; Relevant College and/ or University degree or applicable experience; Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written), team-building and problem-solving skills; Work Experience in Law, Recruitment, Project Management would be considered an asset; Volunteer Board Experience is an asset.
