Job description

Youth Advocate/ Ancillary Servicesย ย 

Hours: Part time 29 hours or less,ย must be flexible for traditional and non-traditional schedule

Compensation:ย  $20 per hour.ย 

Are you interested in a career in social services? Are you new to or have experience working in this field? Are you a student or recent graduate seeking experience in mental and behavioral health? This position is a direct, hands-on opportunity with great flexibility.ย 

Ancillary Services Treatment Advocates with National Youth Advocate Program work closely with adolescents, youth, and children as well as families and community partners, to provide one-on-one advocacy and support while transporting them to and from a destination.

Responsibilitiesย 

โ€ข Provide interventions, as needed, with client(s)while being transported to and from various appointments and visits throughout the communityย 

โ€ข Participate in the development of the youth treatment/service plans as neededย 

โ€ข Interact with the youth to develop a trusting, supportive relationship while assisting in achieving identified goals.ย 

โ€ข Provide PSR and/or TBS Services (Training Provided).

โ€ข Ability to engage clients; document conversations and outcomes and submit paperwork for billing.ย 

โ€ข Identify outside resources and services in the community for youth development and goal attainment.ย 

โ€ข Assist in family reunification efforts with the youthsโ€™ primary family or other permanent living arrangements.ย 

โ€ข Assist in Crisis Situations (daytime, afternoon, evenings, overnights, and weekends).ย 

Minimum Qualificationsย 

โ€ข Associateโ€™s degree, Bachelorโ€™s Degree or enrollment in an accredited Associates or Bachelorโ€™s Program; preferred; GED or HS Diploma required.

โ€ข Experience in child welfare; preferred, not required.ย 

โ€ข Daily travel required with the willingness to meet clients on a flexible schedule or during non-traditional hours if needed; Availability for after school hours and weekends.ย 

โ€ข 21ย years of age or olderย ย 

โ€ข Working, reliable telephone.ย 

โ€ข Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.ย 

Driving and Vehicle Requirementsย 

  • Valid driverโ€™s license
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Good driving record
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
