Job description

Job Summary:
The Billing Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support, reporting, and strategic insights across billing operations, including homes passed, business developments, regulatory compliance, telecommunications activities, taxation, revenue, collections, damage billing, and data audit reporting. This role evaluates complex data sets, identifies trends and opportunities, and develops actionable recommendations to improve reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and business performance. The Billing Analyst partners with stakeholders across the organization to ensure data integrity, support informed decision-making, and drive continuous improvement in reporting and analytics. This is a hybrid role in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the evaluation and enhancement of telecom business processes, leveraging automation and reporting tools to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and organizational performance.
  • Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and reporting frameworks for equipment and automated systems, ensuring system integrity, operational continuity, and timely issue resolution.
  • Develop and analyze ServiceNow performance metrics and ticket tracking reports to identify process improvement opportunities, increase operational effectiveness, and support informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Leverage business acumen and data-driven insights to develop and enhance reporting solutions that support Midco's strategic initiatives, operational objectives, and informed decision-making.
  • Provide tax reporting and compliance analytics by maintaining critical taxation reporting processes and developing new reporting capabilities that ensure accurate, timely, and compliant filing of company liabilities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders to design and deliver reporting and data validation solutions that enhance billing system integrity, improve data accuracy, and support exceptional customer and business outcomes.
  • Think strategically and provide recommendations of current analytics processes that improve efficiency of collecting, gathering, and report company activities.
  • Partner with analysts across the organization to develop recommendations for process and procedure improvements.
  • Manage multiple projects and coordinate efforts across organizational boundaries.
  • Perform both qualitative and quantitative analysis in a variety of billing and regulatory areas.
  • Model Midco's mission, vision, values, ethos, and Leadership Success Drivers, and inspire others to do the same.
  • Ensure customer privacy by adhering to Midco's privacy guidelines while actively following Midco policies and procedures.
  • Maintain reliable and predictable attendance as required by the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business similar degree.
  • Two years previous accounting, finance, or relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior analyst or financial reporting experience.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel especially, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Intermediate-level skills in SQL and/or Power BI.

Work Environment:
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands
  • Heavy keyboard/mouse usage required with repetitive movements.

Physical Demands:
  • May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating standard office equipment (keyboard, mouse, phone, etc.).
  • Ability to read detailed information on screens, dashboards, and printed materials; may require prolonged screen time.
