Meritus Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our General Surgery team, supporting both General and Thoracic Surgery. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced surgeons and advanced practice providers while caring for patients throughout the surgical journey-from initial evaluation and diagnosis through surgical care and recovery.

Your Role in Surgical Care
As a Nurse Practitioner on the General and Thoracic Surgery team, you'll be an integral part of the surgical service. You'll collaborate closely with surgeons, APPs, nursing teams, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.
Your responsibilities may include:
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for surgical patients
  • Provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative patient management
  • Assist General and Thoracic Surgeons in the operating room
  • Participate in surgical procedures and scheduled OR block days
  • Perform patient assessments, consultations, and follow-up visits
  • Manage postoperative care and monitor patients for complications
  • Conduct hospital rounds and coordinate ongoing patient care
  • Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, treatment plans, and recovery
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care
  • Participate in call coverage as part of the surgical team
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the General and Thoracic Surgery service
