Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health status and formulate individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of hospice patients.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions through video conferencing platforms, implementing evidence-based therapeutic modalities suited for serious and terminal illness scenarios.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, ensuring that the psychological needs of patients align with their medical and social support services.
  • Educate and support family members by involving them in therapeutic processes and providing resources to help them cope with the emotional challenges of caring for a loved one in hospice.
  • Document and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality while providing thoughtful and responsive care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of your work will be with hospice patients who are experiencing a range of emotional responses to end-of-life issues. You will support individuals navigating grief, anxiety, depression, and existential distress, providing a safe space for them to express their concerns and experiences. Your role is crucial in promoting mental wellness among patients and facilitating coping strategies that enhance their quality of life during this sensitive time.

Qualifications
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in mental health therapy, particularly in settings focused on end-of-life care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based psychological practices as they relate to palliative care.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively empathize and connect with diverse client populations.
  • Be proficient with telehealth technologies and electronic health record management.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working within hospice or palliative care settings.
  • Familiarity with grief counseling and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Engagement in ongoing training related to mental health issues associated with terminal illnesses.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Enjoy a competitive salary range of USD 60,000 – 104,000 per year, dependent on qualifications and experience.
