Job description

Job Overview
Why Matrix HR?
While global agencies focus on volume, Matrix HR focuses on the mission. For over 23 years, we have been the specialized strategic partner behind Canada’s most critical industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects. We are not just a staffing firm; we are a national workforce solutions provider that manages the full lifecycle of project execution. With a social media following of over 100,000, we have the reach of a global giant but the authentic, "boots on the ground" culture of a dedicated partner. From our main office in Calgary, we lead the industry in workforce readiness, de-risking the balance sheets of our partners by providing the specialized talent they need to build the country.
Working at Matrix HR and why you will love it
We are a team of driven, self-sufficient professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Unlike corporate agencies where you are just a number, at Matrix HR, you are a strategic contributor. We value autonomy, results, and a genuine passion for the skilled trades. We believe that every placement is a life-changing opportunity for a worker and a critical win for our clients. If you are passionate about giving opportunities to tradespeople and want to work in a collaborative office where your impact is visible every day, this is where you belong.
The Role
As a Full-Cycle Recruiter, you will drive the end-to-end recruitment process for our short-term and contract industrial roles across Canada. You will impact both our candidates and customers by finding the right people for the right jobs.
You will:
  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and meticulous onboarding for contract roles.
  • Partner with our Account Managers to identify top accounts, target skill sets, and key market segments across the energy, defence, and mining sectors.
  • Build and maintain authentic relationships with industry contacts to gain knowledge and generate referrals; you will be the bridge between a skilled worker and a landmark project.
  • Execute strategic recruiting plans that reflect the technical nuances and security requirements of our partners' high-compliance sites.
  • Manage candidate pipelines and documentation within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to ensure the highest standards of compliance and data integrity.
  • Track specific project requirements meticulously and maintain regular contact with clients to ensure their staffing goals are met with precision.
  • Foster a positive candidate experience by providing consistent feedback and professional support throughout their entire contract lifecycle.
Let's talk money and perks!
Matrix HR offers a competitive base salary with unlimited earning potential through an uncapped commission structure. We believe in rewarding the "grind" and the results that power our company's growth.
Additional benefits include:
  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Paid time off and professional development opportunities within a growing national organisation.
  • A vibrant, collaborative work environment in our Calgary main office where your success is celebrated.
  • The chance to work at the heart of the Canadian industrial sector, supporting major builds that define our national infrastructure.
  • Performance-based incentives including quarterly bonuses and recognition for outstanding achievement.
Qualifications
  • A genuine passion for the skilled trades and a commitment to providing meaningful career opportunities to workers.
  • Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment, specifically within the industrial, construction, or energy sectors.
  • Highly organised and self-sufficient; you must be able to learn our processes quickly and execute them with precision.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage candidates through cold calling, research, and social media outreach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced office setting without losing attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with government project staffing requirements or security clearances is a significant asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
If you are a recruiter who understands the grind and is passionate about powering the future of the Canadian workforce, join Matrix HR in Calgary. Let’s build the teams that build the country. Apply today!
