POSITION SUMMARY:

The Laboratory Technician position is in the certification lab located in Catlettsburg, KY and helps support refining customers by performing analytical testing of crude oil and hydrocarbon process streams. The position may consist of a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that includes weekends and may require overtime. The position may also require minimal travel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs analytical testing with adherence to standard operating procedures; generates highly accurate, timely, and defensible results

  • Operates and maintains various analytical instruments used to support the daily operation of the lab

  • Follows all applicable safety procedures

  • Communicates effectively with customers

  • Adheres to laboratory quality control protocols

  • Maintains good housekeeping

  • Demonstrates ethics and integrity is all aspects of the job

  • Certifies finished products and creates Certificates of Analysis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 16 hours of college-level chemistry required. Chemistry Degree preferred.

  • Two (2) years or more of experience required.
