What You'll Do
- Perform crude oil assay testing in accordance with established methods and internal procedures
- Conduct atmospheric and vacuum distillation using ASTM D2892 and/or D5236
- Support and sustain TAPS (Trans-Alaska Pipeline System) crude assay processes
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Document, validate, review, and report analytical results in LIMS, including identification of out-of-specification (OOS) conditions
- Support quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) programs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain proper sample handling, labeling, and chain of custody procedures
- Assist with general laboratory operations, including inventory, housekeeping, and cross-training
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline; equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree
- 1-2 years of experience with crude assay and/or distillation processes required, including ASTM D2892 and/or D5236
- Proven hands-on analytical laboratory experience in petroleum, crude oil, hydrocarbon, or oil & gas environments
- Experience working with TAPS (Trans-Alaska Pipeline System) crude streams strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
