Job Description

The Metals Analyst is responsible for performing analytical testing with the primary focus being able to analyze all metals methods including EPA methods 200.7and 200.8, SW-846 methods 6010 and 6020 along with Hexavalent Chromium and Mercury. This position ensures all testing complies with EPA methods, quality control standards, and laboratory safety protocols. The analyst will prepare and analyze samples, manage reagent and consumable inventories, maintain instrumentation, and accurately record results in the LIMS system.

  • Prepare and maintain method-specific criteria sheets.
  • Assign and track new reagent numbers.
  • Monitor and maintain stock of digestion tubes, sample tubes, acids, and instrument specific consumables.
  • Perform sample preparation of all sample matrices including turbidity testing of drinking water samples.
  • Review data for compliance against QC criteria.
  • Record and report results in the LIMS system.
  • Dispose of old samples as time allows.
  • Collaborate with other members of the metals team and provide assistance where needed.
  • Be available for weekend work when required. Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor or managerial staff.
Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field OR equivalent laboratory experience. 
  • Experience with metals methods and analysis preferred.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles and QA/QC procedures
  • Experience operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation
  • Excellent documentation and recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills

Additional Information
  • Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 A.M.- 5:00 PM, with additional time as needed. 
  • Position is located at our Marion, Ohio location. 
  • Position Pay Range is $20.00-22.00/hr based on experience.
