MACOM sells and distributes products globally via a saleschannel comprised of a direct field sales force, authorized salesrepresentatives and leading industry distributors. Our sales team is trainedacross all of our products to give our customers insights into our entireportfolio.
Applications Engineer - Principal
Our customer applications require high speed (GHz) ICs for optical media accessand signal transport. These applications are characterized by internationaldevelopment, fast design cycles, and demanding analog performance.
Specific Responsibilities:
Specialize in MACOM's High-Performance Analog ICs and their specificapplications. Provide expert level engineering support to customers, sales,FAEs, and marketing. Work with design engineering to produce productdocumentation and applications collateral. As a product specialist, solvechallenging problems through analysis and hands-on lab work.
Qualifications / Skills:
  • BSEE or similar degree and 10 years of experience in a related position arerequired.
  • MSEE degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building 100G and 200G QSFP28 Single Mode and Multi-Mode opticaltransmission modules and associated standards is required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and strong communications skills areessential.
  • Experience with high performance analog applications is required.
  • Background in Design, Product, Evaluation, or Test Engineering in a mixedsignal or analog environment is considered beneficial to a successfulcandidate.
  • Lab experience including advanced test and measurement instruments such assampling and real-time oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers,Optical Spectrum analyzer and Bit Error testers.
  • Proven track record on test measurements, data analysis and condense results tosupport Marketing, Sales and Customers is required.
  • Experience building optical transmission module and associated standards isrequired. Optical Spectrum analyzer

The Salary Range for this position is $97,900 - 166,700.Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors, includingbut not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education,and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
This position is eligible to receive restricted stock unit(RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM's discretion, subject toindividual and company performance.
