Hardware Systems Engineer – Functional Safety Architecture

We have a position for an automotive functional safety hardware systems engineer to assist with architecture updates for electronic hardware.
What you will be doing:

  • Working on part 5 - Hardware Design Elements of the ISO 26262 standard
  • Architecture updates for electronic hardware used in automotive powertrain applications where functional safety is required
  • Define architecture linkages between component and feature work where functional safety is required
  • Working with hardware architectural metrics – single-point, latent and probabilistic metrics
  • Define hardware element classification
  • Creating FEMA, FMEDA for safety element out of context
  • Updating functional safety procedures
  • Updating processes to be holistic
  • Generating functional safety documentation

What you’ll need to be successful:
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering discipline
  • ISO 26262 certification is required
  • Automotive powertrain background – engine, EV components, turbo etc. must have functional safety experience with at least one powertrain component
  • Experience with Hardware Design Elements - part 5 of ISO 26262 is required
  • Systems level embedded controls understanding is highly desired
  • ISO 26262 design elements understanding
  • Experience with Medina is highly desired
  • Experience with engines is highly desired.
  • Self-starter
  • Organized
  • Collaborative
  • Productive in a hybrid work environment with team members in various geographic locations
