Position Summary

The Legacy Companies is seeking a high-performing sales professional to manage and grow a portfolio of national retail accounts while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities across retail, ecommerce, commercial, and specialty channels.

This is a highly visible role for an individual who thrives on winning new business, building executive-level relationships, and driving profitable growth. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable expanding existing customer partnerships and opening doors with new accounts.

We are looking for someone who approaches the business with an ownership mentality, takes accountability for results, and consistently looks beyond today's business to create tomorrow's opportunities.

Key Responsibilities - Business Growth & New Account Development

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on acquiring new national retail, ecommerce, and commercial customers.
  • Identify and pursue untapped market opportunities that align with The Legacy Companies' brand portfolio.
  • Build relationships with merchants, buyers, category managers, and senior decision-makers at targeted retailers.
  • Lead prospecting efforts from initial outreach through account onboarding and launch.
  • Develop compelling customer presentations that clearly communicate our brands, products, and value proposition.
  • Partner with leadership to prioritize strategic target accounts and execute annual business development objectives.

Account Management

  • Own the complete customer relationship for assigned accounts.
  • Develop annual business plans focused on sales growth, profitability, assortment expansion, and promotional strategy.
  • Conduct line reviews and quarterly business reviews.
  • Identify new distribution opportunities within existing customers.
  • Drive cross-functional execution across marketing, supply chain, finance, operations, and product development.

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of National Account sales experience within the consumer products industry.
  • Proven experience managing large retail accounts.
  • Strong understanding of omnichannel retail, ecommerce, and marketplace businesses.
  • Experience leading annual line reviews, promotional planning, and customer negotiations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and Power BI (preferred).
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

The successful candidate will:

  • Consistently identify new business opportunities and convert them into profitable growth.
  • Operate with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Anticipate issues before they become problems.
  • Make data-driven business decisions.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Has strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Execute with urgency while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Require minimal day-to-day direction while keeping leadership informed.
  • Is a hunter who enjoys opening new doors and winning new business.
  • Think like a business owner, not simply an account manager.
  • Has a relentless drive to grow revenue and market share.
