Position: Medical Assistant (Residence Group Home)
Regional Health Systems is Northwest Indiana's largest provider of community-based mental health care, primary health care and addiction treatment services. We offer adults and children-both uninsured and insured-integrated care through our community mental health center and federally qualified health center. Regional Health Systems is a member of the Regional Care Group.
Position Purpose:
To provide technical psychiatric mental health services to adolescents or adults, which are directed toward:
1. Assistance in maintaining daily routines while clients are in a residential or day treatment setting.
2. Providing skills and support to enable clients to regain coping abilities and prevent further disability.
3. Performing routine medical assistant functions to/for clients/residents
4. Creating a therapeutic milieu to facilitate treatment.
Essential Function:
• Monitor Medication self-administration
• Organize medication cabinet ensuring medication are available, inventoried, and organized.
• Obtain or assist client in measuring and documentation vital signs, temperature, blood sugar, and blood pressure
• Medical Treatment Coordination
• Emergency intervention care of clients in crisis
• Documentation
• Participate in development to the Master Treatment Plan and Updates, if applicable
• Instruct in Skill Building and Medication Training and Support, if applicable
• Conduct educational groups, if applicable
• Trainer/lead responsibilities
• Transports clients as required safely and on time, If applicable
• Competes Medicaid required transportation documents for eligible clients for each trip, if applicable
• Policies, Procedures, Manuals, Resource Documents

Location: Frederick Apartments (Munster Indiana)
Requirements:?
Associate Degree from Medical Assistant training program that is accredited by ABHES (Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools) or CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education).
Certification is recommended at this time but not required. Certified Medical Assistant/CMA (certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants.
