Job description

Position - Certified Medical Assistant
Regional Health Systems is Northwest Indiana's largest provider of community-based mental health care, primary health care and addiction treatment services. We offer adults and children-both uninsured and insured-integrated care through our community mental health center and federally qualified health center. Regional Health Systems is a member of the Regional Care Group.
Position Description:
The Medical Assistant supports healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative duties in a clinic setting. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, and collecting lab specimens. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Function:
  • Prepare patients for exams, including taking vitals and medical history
  • Assist Physicians/Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare providers during exams
  • Perform basic medical tasks such as drawing blood, administering injections, and collecting lab specimens
  • Provide problem solving counseling and emergency interventions
  • Maintain and stock exam rooms with necessary medical supplies
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide outstanding customer service

Pay is based on experience:
$16.53 - $19.83 + $2.00 Incentive (non-negotiable)

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CMA or RMA Certification in Indiana
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to pass extensive background checks and pass drug screen
