Position snapshot
- Title: Rotating Equipment Service Engineer — Centrifugal Air Systems
- Location: Kansas City, MO (regional travel)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM; overtime available
- Travel & overnights: Daily site visits; regular overnight stays
- Compensation: $35.00–$50.00/hour + quarterly bonuses; $3,000 sign-on. Typical starting offers fall between $35.00–$45.00/hour based on experience and qualifications; full-time hourly role.
What you’ll tackle
- Field installation, commissioning, and service of centrifugal air compressors.
- Preventive maintenance plans and swift emergency response.
- Root-cause diagnosis across mechanical assemblies, power (120/208/240/480V), and control systems.
- Clear, proactive communication with customers on status, next steps, and repair options.
Must-haves
- 3+ years dedicated to centrifugal compressor service.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license for 12+ months with a clean record: no DUI in past 5 years; no hit & run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving; and no multiple minor violations or preventable collisions within the last 3 years.
- Hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise.
- Experience in field service or industrial maintenance environments.
- Capability to regularly use hands/fingers, walk, stoop, and kneel, and to lift/move weights in line with safety policy.
Core skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency and basic computer literacy.
- Comfort with handheld devices (smartphone/iPad) and network-based tools.
- Strong customer communication, documentation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
Bonus points
- OEM or distributor background.
- OEM training with brands such as Ingersoll Rand, Kaeser, or Hitachi.
