About IMC Logistics

IMC Logistics is the largest marine drayage company in the United States, operating one of the industry’s largest fleets of trucks and chassis. Since 1982, IMC has delivered innovative transportation and logistics solutions across major ports and rail hubs nationwide.

We are continuing to grow and are looking for a motivated, high-energy Vendor Representative to join our brokerage operations team in Channahon, IL.

Position Summary

This position works directly with our brokerage group to source carrier capacity, build vendor relationships, negotiate rates, and coordinate freight movements with outside carriers and transportation vendors.

This is a fast-paced operations role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, communication, and keeping freight moving efficiently.

Previous brokerage or logistics experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right entry-level candidate with strong communication skills, work ethic, and the ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Source and secure outside carrier/vendor capacity
  • Build and maintain relationships with trucking companies and owner operators
  • Negotiate freight rates and secure transportation coverage
  • Dispatch and coordinate loads from pickup through delivery
  • Track shipments and provide updates to customers and internal teams
  • Resolve service issues and communicate proactively
  • Assist in growing IMC’s carrier/vendor network
  • Work closely with operations, customer service, and dispatch teams

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable making phone calls and negotiating with carriers/vendors
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively
  • Logistics, transportation, brokerage, or dispatch experience is a plus, but not required
