Job description


The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for providing guests with a clean, welcoming, and enjoyable breakfast experience while maintaining the breakfast area according to Holiday Inn Express and IHG standards. This position ensures food and beverages are properly prepared, stocked, presented, and maintained throughout breakfast service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests and provide friendly, courteous service during breakfast hours.
  • Set up and prepare the breakfast area before service begins.
  • Stock and replenish breakfast foods, beverages, utensils, plates, napkins, and other supplies.
  • Monitor food levels and ensure items are available and properly presented.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the breakfast area, tables, counters, and serving stations.
  • Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor food temperatures and ensure food is stored and handled appropriately.
  • Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, counters, equipment, and other food-service areas.
  • Collect dishes, cups, utensils, and trash throughout breakfast service.
  • Assist guests with questions regarding breakfast items and hotel amenities.
  • Monitor the breakfast area and promptly address guest needs or concerns.
  • Communicate with the front desk and management regarding guest requests, supply needs, or maintenance issues.
  • Complete breakfast preparation, cleaning, and closing duties according to hotel procedures.
  • Check inventory and notify management when food, beverages, or supplies need to be reordered.
  • Follow Holiday Inn Express and IHG standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support hotel operations.
Qualifications
  • Previous food-service, hospitality, or customer-service experience preferred but not required.
  • Friendly and positive attitude with strong guest-service skills.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and attention to detail in a busy environment.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements
The position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, frequent bending and reaching, and the ability to lift and carry food, beverage, and supply items as needed.
