About the Organization

Highland Rivers Counseling, LLC is committed to providing high-quality mental health treatment in a supportive outpatient office environment. Our practice focuses on trauma survivors facing challenges such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. We pride ourselves on creating a safe and nurturing space where patients can begin their healing journey. Our skilled team collaborates to employ innovative therapeutic solutions and maintain a culture of integrity and care.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home while still engaging with a vibrant, supportive team. Our outpatient office model promotes flexibility in scheduling, providing both full-time and part-time work options. Your contributions will be essential in supporting our clients while also benefiting from an environment dedicated to professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients' backgrounds and histories, ensuring client-specific treatment modalities are appropriately identified.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery and fostering resilience among clients
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients articulate and process their trauma while building essential coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and comprehensive care to clients.
  • Offer crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, providing clients with the essential tools and resources needed to navigate crisis situations effectively.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and various coping mechanisms, empowering them to successfully manage their recovery journey.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards while maintaining accurate and confidential client documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development workshops centered on trauma-informed care and best practices.
  • Stay informed of ongoing advancements in trauma therapy to enhance your skill set.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of your therapeutic work will be individuals who have experienced significant trauma. This includes a diverse client base characterized by varying ages, backgrounds, and socio-economic statuses, all seeking effective treatment for trauma-related conditions. Your empathy and understanding will play a crucial role in facilitating their healing process and supporting their overall mental well-being.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A strong foundation in trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed treatment modalities, and approaches focused on building resilience in individuals.
Preferred Experience

While two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting is preferred, we value candidates who demonstrate a strong knowledge base and experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, embodying a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, are essential for success within this role.
