Job Summary/Description:
KCTV5, Kansas City, is looking for someone with an eye for news and someone with the creativity to tell stories through the lens of their camera. You must be self-motivated, have good communication skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Primary duties include gathering video, interviews, and information, editing for broadcast and digital/ social platforms, setting up/ executing live shots, knowledge in ENG cameras, using cellular Live broadcast devices (Live U), and other duties as assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Gathering video and sound for stories on multiple platforms
- Shoot daily live shots
- Editing stories for television, web, and social media
- Contribute to the entire editorial process, including sourcing, enterprise, gathering, story construction, and presentation.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of prior Videography experience in a TV Newsroom
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in journalism, TV production, or related field- equivalent experience considered
- Non-linear editing experience
- LIVEU proficiency
- Proven ability to post content on social media platforms
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Flexible schedule with on-call assignments
- MVR check in pre-employment
