What You Will Do
The Sales Account Manager, reporting into the VP, Pet Channel & eCommerce will drive execution and grow our Neighborhood Pet (NHP), Farm & Feed businesses and strengthen distributor training. This hands-on, highly field-based role requires regular travel to support regional accounts, distributor partners, and retail locations. The Sales Account Manager will own in-store execution, expand distribution, and build strong relationships across HQ accounts, store teams, and distributor partners, serving as a key link between the field and internal teams to ensure consistent, high-quality execution. Success in this role means growing distribution, improving retail execution, and delivering consistent sales growth across the territory.
How You Will Make an Impact

• Account management & distribution growth: Manage a portfolio of Neighborhood Pet and Farm & Feed accounts, optimizing assortment and placement to drive sales velocity and support new store acquisition and expansion.
• Distributor & account support: Build strong working relationships with store managers, regional contacts, and distributor partners, and train distributor reps and store teams on Freshpet products and merchandising standards.
• In-store execution & performance: Audit stores regularly for compliance with planograms (POG), in-stock levels, and chiller conditions, resolving execution gaps such as out-of-stocks, voids, and merchandising concerns.
• Cross-functional coordination: Partner with sales, marketing, and operations to align retail strategies and execution, proactively resolving issues and sharing insights to improve processes and performance.
• Performance tracking & insights: Use tools such as Nielsen, Power BI, and internal reporting to track distribution, velocity, and in-stock KPIs, sharing field insights to improve retail conditions.

What You Will Bring

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in large CPG with natural or pet channel experience strongly preferred
• Travel: ~50-70% national travel with significant time in the field
• Work style: Strong work ethic with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset and ability to work autonomously.
• Relationship building: Ability to build relationships quickly and communicate effectively at the store and distributor level.
• Technical skills: Basic analytical skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Nielsen, Sales force, or Power BI.
• Ownership: High level of ownership, accountability, and desire to learn and grow within the organization.

What We Offer
The range for this position is: $105,000 - $125,000
