CareFlite provides critical medical transport services by helicopter and ground ambulance, as well as non-medical transport services.

Position Summary

The Air Operations Manager oversees all air clinical operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of critical care transport services. This role provides leadership and support to air clinical personnel, manages staffing and training programs, oversees quality improvement initiatives, and collaborates with operational and medical leadership to maintain the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Air Clinical personnel across the Air Division.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, attendance, and operational readiness of air medical bases.
  • Oversee orientation, clinical evaluations, and performance management of air clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with Flight Operations, Maintenance, Education, and Medical Leadership to ensure operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with CAMTS standards, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support quality assurance, process improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Participate in hiring, employee development, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
  • Foster positive relationships with healthcare partners, first responders, and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with budget planning, resource management, and cost-saving initiatives.

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Based at CareFlite Corporate Headquarters with oversight throughout the Air Division service area.
  • Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Requires occasional flight participation, lifting up to 25 pounds, and exposure to varying weather conditions and clinical environments.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Texas Paramedic certification or unrestricted nursing license.
  • Minimum 3 years of EMS experience, including 911 response experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of flight clinician experience.
  • Current Texas Class C driver's license.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work flexible schedules.

Preferred

  • National Registry Paramedic certification.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.

Required Certifications

  • ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
  • ATLS or TPATC
  • Must maintain all required flight line and CAMTS Clinical Care Supervisor qualifications.
