Mergers & Acquisitions Associate Attorney (Midlevel–Senior)Location: Washington, DC or Reston, Virginia

Direct Counsel is seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate Attorney to join a top-tier, nationally recognized law firm with a sophisticated corporate practice. This role is ideal for an experienced associate looking to take on significant responsibility across complex M&A transactions while working closely with clients and senior attorneys.
Responsibilities
Draft and negotiate definitive and ancillary transaction documents
Manage all phases of the deal process, including diligence, structuring, and closing
Serve as a key point of contact for clients on M&A matters
Supervise and mentor junior associates
Handle multiple matters simultaneously while meeting fast-paced deal timelines
Advise clients on a broad range of strategic transactions involving sophisticated business considerations
Qualifications
3–7 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions at a leading law firm
Strong experience handling complex M&A transactions from inception through closing
Demonstrated ability to manage deal workflow and client relationships
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project-management skills
High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within deal teams
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $260,000 – $420,000, depending on experience, skillset, and geographic location
