The Team You’ll Join  

Our team builds and operates mission-critical trading and investment technology that powers adaptive wealth management. We develop scalable, resilient systems that support the full transaction lifecycle, combining distributed systems engineering, financial domain expertise, and platform reliability.

Engineers partner closely with product, platform, and risk/compliance teams to modernize services, leverage AI and automation, and solve complex challenges end-to-end, all while delivering solutions that operate reliably in a regulated environment.

How You’ll Contribute   

Responsible for building scalable, secure platforms in support of Envestnet business operations, including wealth management, financial data aggregation and advisor-driven technology solutions. Works across cloud-based architectures, integrating complex data sources and APIs to deliver reliable, high-performance systems. Collaborates with product managers, data scientists and compliance stakeholders to meet both business and regulatory requirements.
•    Designs, develops, and maintains complex features or system components.
•    Leads technical design for small-to-medium features or services. 
•    Identifies root causes of issues and implement robust, scalable fixes. 
•    Optimizes code for performance, scalability, and reliability. 
•    Mentors junior engineers (P1–P2) and provide technical guidance.
•    Drives improvements in coding standards, testing practices, and CI/CD processes. 
•    Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and clarify technical constraints 
•    Troubleshoots production issues and lead resolution efforts.
•    Balances multiple priorities across projects with minimal supervision.
•    Implements and improves basic observability (logging, monitoring, alerting) for owned services.
•    Supports production troubleshooting in collaboration with DevOps/SRE teams.
•    Designs and delivers scalable fintech product services and distributed systems with a focus on performance, resilience, and transactional correctness.
•    Defines service boundaries, data ownership models, and fault-tolerant workflows for high-throughput, low-latency applications.
•    Designs and implements AI-driven solutions and automation capabilities while ensuring security, governance, auditability, and compliance within regulated financial environments.
•    Partners with product, platform, and compliance stakeholders to translate business and regulatory requirements into production-ready technical solutions.

What You’ll Need to Bring  

•    Candidates should demonstrate the relevant experience, skills, and capabilities needed to successfully perform in the role. Relevant experience may be gained through current responsibilities, prior roles, project work, leadership opportunities, or other comparable experiences.
•    Strong experience designing distributed, transactional systems in fintech or regulated domains. 
•    Deep understanding of data consistency, idempotency, fault tolerance, and scalability. 
•    Hands‑on experience building stateful AI agents with well‑defined short‑ and long‑term memory. 
•    Solid understanding of security, observability, and production incident handling. 
•    Ability to communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs clearly.
•    Languages & Frameworks: Java, Spring Boot, Python 
•    Data & Systems: SQL, Distributed Systems, Transactional Services 
•    Messaging: Kafka, Async Messaging 
•    Cloud & Platform: Cloud Infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker 
•    AI & Agents: Agentic AI (LangGraph), RAG, Vector Stores 
•    Security & Ops: Security Tooling, Observability & Monitoring Platforms

Nice-to-Haves  

•    Experience with event driven architectures (Kafka, async messaging). 
•    Familiarity with AI cost control, evaluation, and governance practices. 
•    Prior experience in trading systems, real‑time financial platforms, or regulated production environments.

This role offers a base salary range of [$ minimum to $ midpoint]. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.  This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
