Job Summary:
eBay is a global ecommerce leader that is changing the way the world shops and sells. The role involves leveraging data-driven insights and advanced analytics to improve shipping solutions and enhance the overall shipping experience for buyers and sellers.
Responsibilities:
• Apply advanced analytics, AI, and experimentation to solve complex business problems and improve eBay’s domestic and cross-border shipping experience.
• Drive the growth and optimization of eBay’s managed shipping and label platform by defining success metrics, measuring impact, and identifying opportunities to scale globally.
• Build predictive models and carrier rate simulations that improve shipping cost, delivery speed, reliability, and sustainability across carrier networks.
• Identify friction across the seller shipping and label purchase journey, uncover customer pain points, and recommend product and business improvements that increase label adoption.
• Design, execute, and evaluate experiments to inform decisions on product features, pricing, and policy, while partnering cross-functionally to turn insights into measurable outcomes.
• Develop scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and AI-powered monitoring solutions that enable faster decisions, improve operational visibility, and detect performance issues in real time.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field
• 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative role, with a track record of independently leading high-impact initiatives end to end
• Strong technical skills in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools, with working knowledge of Python or R
• Experience in product analytics, experimentation, A/B testing, and causal inference, with the ability to translate analysis into business action
• Demonstrated success applying data science, optimization, and AI techniques to drive measurable business impact
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Product, Engineering, Finance, and business teams in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
• advanced degree or MBA is a plus
• familiarity with modern AI tools and LLMs is preferred
• experience in logistics, shipping operations, or carrier performance analytics is a plus
