Job description

It's fun to work in a company where people truly believe in what they are doing. At Dutch Bros Coffee, we are more than just a coffee company. We are a fun-loving, mind-blowing company that makes a difference one cup at a time.
Position Overview
At Dutch Bros, our mission is simple but powerful: we are in the relationship business, and we exist to make a massive difference, one cup at a time. Philanthropy is core to our identity, but our approach is uniquely Dutch Bros-built on high energy, speed, and deep connection to our shops rather than traditional fundraising models or siloed corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. Our giving portfolio is dynamic-encompassing National Giving events, local shop givebacks, and community activations funded both through corporate and foundation dollars-and is built to fuel brand engagement, support our incredible shop crew, and amplify our unique culture of speed, quality, and service.
The Senior Community Giving Specialist is a business-minded, relationship-driven individual contributor responsible for driving the operational execution, platform management, and cross-functional integration of our giving portfolio. Reporting directly to the Director of Philanthropy, this role functions as the operational backbone of the team, managing the complex technology systems and project lifecycles that power our giving campaigns, volunteer mobilizations, corporate impact sponsorships, and foundation initiatives.
Because we exist to support the front lines, a huge part of this role is collaborating closely with our field operators. You will focus on continuous process improvements, creating clear educational resources, and offering hands-on system support to ensure our shops can execute giveback days flawlessly. This role is an exceptional fit for experienced Dutch Bros shop managers and/or operators who want to bring their deep, hands-on understanding of our shop culture and field realities to a corporate campaign and platform level. Since our programs are funded through corporate and foundation dollars, the ideal candidate must approach giving through an execution lens-balancing a heart for making a massive difference with a mind for operational excellence.
Key Result Areas
1. Platform Management & Dual-Entity Impact Tracking
  • Serve as the functional system administrator and operational lead of Dutch Bros' internal giving and grant management platforms (e.g., Benevity), maximizing system efficiency and data integrity for both corporate and foundation allocations.

  • Responsible for the creation, implementation, and maintenance of all technical workflows, internal platform communications, and operational documentation, ensuring proper segmentation between corporate expenses and foundation grants.

  • Establish and monitor strict compliance guardrails for local shop givebacks and community activations, ensuring all activities align with public company reporting regulations, brand guidelines, and foundation compliance rules.

  • Track and compile detailed metrics on Operator participation, platform adoption, and local program execution, providing accurate, clean data to support broader corporate reporting and measure performance against regional goals.

  • Provide technical platform guidance and structure to the Community Activation Coordinator to ensure local field tracking and metrics integrate cleanly and accurately into the central database.

2. Field Collaboration, Process Improvement & Education
  • Lead the operational execution and scaling of National Giving events, local shop givebacks, and community activations (e.g., Dutch Luv, Buck for Kids, Drink One for Dane), ensuring project roadmaps directly support business objectives and Dutch Bros' culture.

  • Field Partnership & Process Improvement: Actively partner with the field to gather on-the-ground feedback; use these insights to continually refine giving processes, eliminate operational friction, and improve execution at the shop level.

  • Education & Support: Develop and deliver engaging, easy-to-understand educational tools, training guides, and platform resources to empower field operators and shop crews to successfully participate in and champion community giving initiatives.

  • Act as the primary project manager for enterprise-wide giving initiatives, driving timelines and deliverables across internal Marketing, Communications, Legal, and Operations teams without direct reports.

  • Create post-campaign analysis, translating program outcomes into business insights and operational recommendations for the Director of Philanthropy to scale future campaigns.

  • Maintain central giving resources, ensuring cross-functional corporate partners are fully aligned on project goals, timelines, and execution metrics.

3. Cross-Functional Integration & Brand Consultation
  • Partner with the Director of Philanthropy to translate corporate and foundation giving data and milestones into compelling stories that drive crew member engagement and customer loyalty.

  • Draft business briefs, presentations, and financial/program updates for leadership and the Foundation Board.

  • Consult with regional Field Marketing leadership to ensure local shop activations and localized giving calendars are operationally aligned with enterprise brand strategies and our mission to make a massive difference.

  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for corporate giving tech vendors, designated foundation partners, and key field stakeholders, managing system updates and change-management communications smoothly.

Skills
  • Advanced Workflow Optimization: Strong system organization utilizing Smartsheet and Office 365 (advanced Excel) to build clean trackers and timelines.

  • Highly Organized Project Management: Exceptional attention to detail, structured timeline management, and the ability to coordinate complex cross-functional project deliverables seamlessly.

  • Operational Grounding & Pride in Execution: The distinct ability to see the deep business value in structural, administrative, or what others may consider "mundane" tasks-understanding that perfect execution on small details is what makes massive differences possible.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with near-flawless grammar, proofreading capabilities, and the ability to draft clear, professional resources.

  • Heart for Giving & Collaborative Spirit: A deep, genuine passion for philanthropy and community impact, paired with an inherently supportive, cooperative "team-first" attitude.

  • Agility & Growth Mindset: The flexibility to quickly shift, pivot, and adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth business environment while always keeping the how (relationships, culture, and kindness) just as important as the what (metrics and execution goals).

  • Field Operator Support & Educational Resource Development: Translating technical processes into simple, engaging guides that empower busy shop crews.

  • Process Improvement & Feedback Loop Management: Gathering field feedback and turning it into streamlined system updates.

  • Data, Budgeting, & Legal/Funding Entity Compliance: Understanding basic data tracking and coordination across separate legal/funding entities (corporate and foundation).

  • Workplace Organization & Process Mapping: Keeping project repositories, digital templates, and compliance documents cataloged with documented SOPs.

Job Qualifications
  • Education: BA/BS in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field required, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience managing complex corporate programs, brand-driven giving initiatives, system platforms, or corporate foundation operations. A proven background as a Dutch Bros Shop Manager or Operator is highly valued and considered an outstanding fit for this role, as is experience in a corporate retail, hospitality, or Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) environment.

  • Platform & Systems Expertise: Proven experience managing or learning enterprise program software and grant management platforms (e.g., Benevity) to track multiple distinct funding streams (corporate vs. foundation) is highly preferred. Near-expert proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 programs (including advanced Excel) and Smartsheet is required to independently manage project timelines, data tracking, and campaign workflows. (For internal shop managers/operators, a strong aptitude for mastering these digital platform tools is required).

  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with a track record of leading cross-functional, company-wide campaigns from operational roadmap to post-campaign commercial debrief. A Project Management Certification (PMP or CAPM) is preferred but not required.

  • Field & Operator Collaboration: A passion for supporting the front line, with a proven track record of gathering feedback from field teams to drive process improvements and build user-friendly training resources.

  • Business Alignment: Strong capability to tie community platforms and strategies back to internal employee engagement, corporate culture, and customer brand loyalty.

  • Data & Logistics: Strong analytical capabilities with experience handling data governance, separate legal/funding entity workflows, and financial tracking to meet public company reporting standards.

Location Requirements:
  • This position is located in the Tempe, AZ office.

  • Schedule: Full-time, following a 4-day on-site schedule (Monday-Thursday in-office, Friday remote), with flexibility required for occasional evening or weekend community events.
