Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Hospitalist Physician you will help Dignity Health Medical Group patients receive expert inpatient care so they can achieve optimal health outcomes and recovery.

Everyday you will deliver direct patient care for complex internal medicine conditions, ranging from diabetes management to critical illness intervention. You will be expected to perform inpatient consultations, efficiently discharge patients from emergency and clinical decision units, and contribute to the education of medical students and residents, ensuring the highest standards of clinical competency and continuous learning within a leading medical center.

To be successful in this role, you must possess extensive experience in managing a high-acuity patient census, a strong commitment to quality improvement initiatives, and exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary medical team. Ideal candidates will thrive in a Level 1 trauma center environment with high-volume emergency and critical care services, including advanced neurosurgery and cardiovascular care.

  • 180 shifts per year (primary schedule 7 on 7 off) consisting of predominantly days (7:00 am – 7:00 pm), with occasional night coverage. An additional nocturnist is being actively recruited.

  • Primary responsibility is supervising residents for on-site adult admissions and inpatient care

  • Cerner EMR links all of our outpatient and inpatient facilities with established plan to transition to EPIC

  • Paid malpractice, generous annual CME stipend, excellent benefit package

  • Open ICU with 24/7 intensivists; ventilator management, procedures, running codes not required

  • 501(c)(3) employer: may qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

Dignity Health Arizona, Creighton University East Valley Internal Medicine Residency Program is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine Physician to join our established Internal Medicine Residency Program as a Core Faculty member in Chandler Arizona. Become part of a collaborative academic environment where you can shape the next generation of physicians.

  • Join the core faculty of an established, growing, university-affiliated Internal Medicine Residency Program with 33 residents, 30 categorical and 3 preliminary.

  • Alternate between Chandler Regional Medical Center, which is a 465-bed high-acuity Level I Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, which is a 219-bed acute care community hospital.

  • Join an existing group of 7 core faculty hospitalists, and 3 dedicated nocturnists.

  • Engage in medical education through hands-on resident training, mentorship, and potential teaching appointments with Creighton University Medical School.

  • Contribute to academic development of the program with participation in research and scholarly activities.

Pay Range

$270,000 - $282,000 /year
