The Opportunity
The Senior Analyst, Business Strategy and Analytics, plays a pivotal role within the DBI Analytics Center of Excellence, collaborating across functional areas to deliver impactful, data-driven insights that inform strategic decisions and drive operational excellence. This role is responsible for the end-to-end development and maintenance of analytical tools and systems, ensuring data governance, integrity, and user support. Acting as a liaison between business units and shared service teams, the Senior Analyst delivers timely, audience-tailored analysis that supports both tactical execution and long-term planning.
The Senior Analyst partners with business leaders to turn data into actionable insights that drive revenue growth and efficiency. This role develops integrated data solutions, analyzes customer behavior and their long-term value, and delivers clear recommendations to executive stakeholders. By translating complex data into meaningful insights, the Senior Analyst help guide strategic decisions and improve overall business performance.
What You'll Be Doing
• Develops and delivers accurate, timely reporting and analysis to support tactical operations, strategic initiatives and short and long term business decisions.
• Collaborates with cross-functional partners to identify analytic needs and develop ad-hoc and long-term solutions.
• Serves as a subject matter expert within Customer, Marketing, and Digital, providing strategic guidance and mentorship to junior analysts.
• Analyze overall customer data trends to create and communicate actionable insights that help drive decision making
• Interprets and translates complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences, including executives.
• Participates in business meetings and category reviews to stay informed on trends and opportunities
• Drives continuous improvement of analytics processes, tools, and methodologies, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency and business impact
What You'll Need
Required Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including application of retail mathematics and statistics.
• Proficiency in data mining, utilizing reporting tools and extensive experience with SQL (BQ is a plus)
• Experience in data science programming languages (R, Python)
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to various audiences, including leadership.
• Experience working with multiple data sources and validating data accuracy.
• Comfortable training others and supporting user adoption of tools and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional analytics projects and influence decision making at the leadership level
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong business acumen, with the ability to connect data insights to strategic objectives
Experience:
• 5+ years in a corporate retail analyst, planning, or financial role.
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office, including MS Access.
• Proven track record of independently leading analytics initiatives and delivering measurable business impact
• Experience with Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) application.
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Analytics or other STEM field (Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Applied Mathematics) with 5+ of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Analytics or other STEM field (Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics)
• Retail experience preferred
