Job description

Serves as the senior subject matter expert and technical leader for Cybersecurity Architecture & Engineering within DT-US, directing the firm's security capabilities across Artificial Intelligence, Microsegmentation, Infrastructure & Cloud Security, Zero Trust Network Access, and Strategy & Governance. The Director sets technical direction for these capabilities and partners with the Deloitte Global security team to evaluate, implement, and continually mature the solutions that reduce risk to client and firm data while strengthening the resilience and adaptability of the network and cloud environment. The position is the primary advisor to DT-US leadership on architecture and engineering strategy within these domains and represents the firm in working groups focused on improving cybersecurity standards, policies, and hardening practices. Provides work leadership to engineering and architecture staff; leads projects including participants from other countries in cross border operations.

Work you'll do

  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of common security architecture and engineering processes and standards across Deloitte US entities and serve as subject matter expert on security requirements and compliance requirements.
  • Directs microsegmentation architecture and strategy, segmenting application environments into isolated security zones with granular access policies to contain breaches at the point of entry and prevent lateral spread of ransomware.
  • Provides security expertise and oversight to assess, implement, and evaluate infrastructure and cloud security solutions, including CNAPP, CWPP, and CSPM capabilities, to strengthen network resilience and adaptability; oversees security assessments and reviews of infrastructure and cloud policy enforcement changes for security impact.
  • Directs the strategy for secure application access for employees, contractors, and clients by enforcing strong identity verification, removing implicit trust, and limiting lateral movement; oversee product evaluations, proof-of-concept testing, and access policy design for Zero Trust Network Access solutions.
  • Serves as the firm's subject matter expert for strategic initiatives such as Zero Trust, DevSecOps, and AI security; represents the firm in working groups focused on improving cybersecurity standards, policies, and hardening practices.
  • Provides input into the annual strategic planning and budget processes and identifies cost effective operations in a manner consistent with the strategic and budgetary requirements.
  • Serves as a professional mentor for assigned staff regarding all professional development processes and builds strong relationships with and leads teams and individuals without direct reporting relationships.
  • Works independently without supervision and leads teams to develop formal courses of action and recommendations for leadership, exercising decision-making authority on security architecture and engineering matters as necessary.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $151,400 to $311,000.
