Summary:

CICONIX, LLC is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support the The United States Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) Research Directorate, Logistics Division in Fort Sam Houston, TX.

About the Role:

  • Oversee the management of inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Provide customer support to the staff and establish effective working relationships. Promptly and professionally assist all customers at the service window, as well as vendors or delivery personnel at the loading dock as required.
  • Receive, examine, and issue expendable and non-expendable supplies and equipment. Pack and unpack all incoming and outgoing shipments. Process all shipments and maintain associated documentation.
  • Check packing slips for accuracy and verify quantity of individual items in each incoming shipment. Communicate with Government Purchase Card holders or other procurement specialist when discrepancies in delivered items are noted. Safeguard packages and abide by storage requirements indicated on incoming and outgoing deliveries. Communicate and coordinate distribution of incoming supplies and equipment with customers.
  • Load and unload furniture, medical gas cylinders and other property, equipment, and supplies from trucks at loading platform using required material handling equipment, to include pallet jacks, carts, forklifts, etc. Perform daily assessments of the medical gas storage rooms and provide status reports. Ensure proper PPE is utilized as needed when performing duties.
  • Assist Logisticians in maintaining property accountability, medical supply operations, daily tracking of office supplies and PPE, and all associated administrative functions.
  • Research required office supply items to be procured through various search engines, initiate internal purchase request, and route for approval.
  • Utilize database management systems to maintain accountability documentation for property and medical supply management utilizing systems such as the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system to ensure items are tracked accurately.
  • Assist with the shipping and receiving accounts (Fed Ex, DHL, UPS, etc.) for the Logistics Division. Ensure outgoing packages are packaged correctly to include correct mailing address is clearly identified and all associated documentation, as well as approvals have been obtained prior to coordinating shipment for customers.
  • Assist with the turn-in of excess equipment to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services monthly. Assist with processing the required documentation and packaging requirements. Assist with tagging, crating, and loading or unloading supplies and equipment for turn-in.
  • Assist with the records management for unit supply, tracking and maintaining supplies for civilian and military awards, and ensuring availability of required issued items for incoming Soldiers.
  • Assist with the Quality Control Register for all supply and equipment recall notifications received and disseminate the messages within the organization, as required.
  • Utilize computers to track all correspondence and type required documents, initiate spreadsheets, and develop power point slides along with other office automation applications (Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel) to perform assigned workload.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience, 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Security & Background Check:
    • U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Willingness to comply with the government vaccination requirements.
