Job description

You'll be the planner of record for a plant and a portfolio of items and they'll be yours. Converting the demand forecast into a production plan that actually works, building and maintaining work orders, setting the planning parameters, and catching material and capacity constraints before they hit the floor. Your Senior Planner is there for oversight and escalation, but the day-to-day calls in your scope are yours to make.Beyond your plant, you'll own the monthly IBP deck and coordinate the supply chain KPI suite for the whole organization. That gives you a view across the business that most planning roles never get.The part that makes this role different: we want you automating your own job. If work order creation, reporting, or data reconciliation is eating your week, we want you building the solution AI-assisted workflows, Power Automate, Excel automation, scripting, whatever fits. This role exists to move the numbers, not to keep the lights on.What you'll doOwn the supply plan. Develop and maintain the production plan for your assigned plant and items, turning the demand forecast into feasible, scheduled production requirementsCreate and maintain work orders in the ERP, automating wherever you can so the plan anticipates production needs rather than reacting to themRun material availability checks against the plan, catch shortages early, and drive resolution with Procurement and ProductionSet and maintain planning parameters safety stock, inventory targets, lot sizes, lead times balancing service levels against inventory investment, and review them on a defined cadenceMonitor capacity against the plan for your lines, flag constraints ahead of time, and rebalance with the Senior Planner and ProductionTrack plan attainment, schedule adherence, inventory health, and shortage root causes, and use what you find to improve the planOwn IBP and performance reportingPrepare and coordinate the monthly IBP deck: gather inputs from Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply Planning, and deliver it clean and on time to leadership reviewBuild and maintain the supply chain KPI suite and dashboards that surface supply, demand, inventory, and capacity risk before it becomes a problemSupport demand planning maintain demand inputs, track forecast accuracy, and work with Sales and Commercial on assumptions that move the supply planPartner with Production, Procurement, Sales, and Commercial to align plans ahead of disruptionsAutomate and improveFind the processes ripe for automation, then design, build, and deploy the solution and measure the impact in cycle time and error ratesUse AI tools to accelerate the analytical work: drafting reports, summarizing planning data, generating scenarios, surfacing patterns the team would otherwise missDocument and standardize planning processes, and drive improvements from idea through execution and measurementRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field3+ years in supply chain, including hands-on supply or production planning (MRP, master scheduling, or plant-level planning), plus demand planning and S&OP/IBP exposureHands-on ERP experience SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, xTuple, or equivalent including the planning and work order modulesSolid grounding in planning fundamentals: safety stock, lot sizing, lead times, capacity, MRP logicAdvanced Excel: pivot tables, Power Query, advanced formulas, data modelingStrong analytical instincts and real attention to detailAbility to work on-site full-timePreferred QualificationsHands-on use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) in a work settingPower BI, Tableau, or comparable BI and visualization experienceFood manufacturing or CPG backgroundAPICS / ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP)What we're looking forAn ownership mindset you treat your plant and your items as your accountability, not a task listProcess discipline and comfort in the detailsSteadiness in a fast-paced production environmentThe ability to communicate clearly across functions and hold people to commitmentsA self-starter's habit of finding the improvement rather than waiting for it to be assignedPhysical Requirements and Work EnvironmentPrimarily works at a computer workstation, viewing a screen and using a keyboard for extended periodsRegularly moves about the office and production areas, including walking on concrete and occasionally wet or uneven surfacesOccasionally positions self to observe production lines, storage areas, and inventoryOccasionally moves objects weighing up to 30 poundsBrief, intermittent exposure to refrigerated and frozen areas (approximately 34F to below 0F)Required PPE in production areas, which may include hairnet, smock, hearing protection, slip-resistant footwear, and insulated outerwearOn-site, full-time; occasional extended hours around month-end IBP cycles or production disruptions
