We are currently seeking a Laundry Supervisor who has a passion for providing the highest quality care in aninstitutional, secure setting. The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for safe and efficient facility laundry operations. Plans laundering schedules, monitors inmates/residents during laundry operations, ensures the proper use and maintenance of equipment/supplies, and maintains records of laundry operations.
  • Observes the operation of machines and equipment and reports malfunctions to the maintenance department. Follows up with maintenance department on a weekly basis to insure preventative maintenance is being performed on a regular basis.
  • Ensures that the laundry equipment is cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis and schedules detail cleaning of equipment during regular intervals.
  • Verify that all clothing and laundry items are properly cleaned and maintained in good condition; examine items and report deterioration and/or damage; provide for proper repair, exchange or replacement of items; document and destroy items worn beyond repair.
  • Inventory items, such as linens and supplies and monitor minimum and maximum levels, in accordance with established procedures; requisition replacement items in a timely manner via the purchase order system.
  • Store and dispense cleaning supplies and chemicals in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Assist in the overall facility security plan by conducting counts of inmates/residents working in the area; controlling access to equipment and/or supplies; and controlling the introduction of contraband items into the facility living areas through proper search procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of records and reports to include, laundry charges, production records, time worked, and linen and supply inventory. Processes reports and documents in a timely manner.
  • Monitors safety practices; prepares and disseminates safety and accident reports as required by policy. Takes corrective action in cases of serious and unusual incidents and emergencies.
  • Conduct inspections of work area and equipment for compliance with the requirements of all applicable policies, procedures, rules, standards and/or health, sanitation and safety laws; report results of inspections as required.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
  • One year of experience in laundry operations including knowledge of laundering techniques and procedures is preferred.
  • One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate ability and be willing to complete any required security training.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
