Job description

This position is located at 6170 W Grand Ave, Gurnee, Illinois, 60031 United States

The Visual Merchandising Manager directs store fixturing, product placement, and display while supporting daily operations to create an inspiring and dynamic experience for the customer. 


Visual + Business Operations 

  • Assesses business and product sell-through to identify store successes and opportunities; effectively leads an empowered team to make strategic, creative, business-impacting decisions 
  • Oversees and collaborates with key partners to manage visual direction; prioritizes shipment and optimizes product flow to efficiently impact sell-through, sales, and customer experience 
  • Interprets Home Office direction to impact store’s structure, presentation, and overall productivity to drive store sales. Initiates conversation with Home Office leadership to continuously improve presentation and experience 
  • Takes a forward-thinking approach to make a strategic plan for execution and recovery of sell through and markdowns 
  • Adheres to store’s safety standards, inventory accuracy, reduction of product loss, and upholds all company policy and procedures to support the profitability of the store

  • Emulates global URBN values while acting as a local representative of the Reclectic brand in their respective geography 
  • Partners with the Leadership Team to create balance between engaging visuals and the productive use of space 
  • Leads and supports the team to elevate every aspect of the store experience through efficient operations, merchandising, and in-store marketing to create a compelling atmosphere 
  • Cultivates a welcoming and inclusive environment to support an exceptional and genuine customer experience 
  • Interpret and escalate customer feedback and team insights to positively improve the Reclectic experience and operation  

Leadership + Team Management 

  • Exhibits critical thinking skills, maintains a solutions-based mindset, and is comfortable in fluid situations. Approaches business challenges tactically and collaborates with appropriate partners to resolve timely. 
  • Promotes an inclusive environment by representing and amplifying all voices, actively seeking and advocating for different perspectives 
  • Provides timely and specific employee feedback to create a culture of action and accountability; teach standards of product flow, pricing, and merchandising; develops teams’ product knowledge to appeal to the local customer
  • Inspires teams through empowerment, creativity, empathy, and shared fate; tailors communication to the individual and leverages their strengths 

  • 3+ years store visual merchandising and leadership experience
  • Strong merchant skills and a history of delivering financial results
  • Experience with floor planning
  • Proven record of developing great talent
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the store including nights, weekends, and holidays
