Job description

Job Title: Concrete Finisher

Job Category: Mid-Level

Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Pay: $23 - $32 per hour, based on experience

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to join our team. This role is responsible for placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete on a variety of job sites.

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities and occasional weekend work. Start times may vary, including early mornings (as early as 6:00 AM).

Employees are eligible for benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K) after completing a 90-day probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Place, level, and finish concrete to specified grade and depth
  • Operate screeds, trowels, floats, and other finishing tools (hand and power)
  • Cut joints and grooves to control cracking
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust finishing techniques accordingly
  • Signal and direct concrete truck placement and pouring
  • Smooth, level, and finish surfaces; remove defects and patch as needed
  • Set, align, and remove concrete forms
  • Perform repairs on existing concrete surfaces
  • Apply curing, sealing, and waterproofing compounds
  • Install anchor bolts, embeds, and other fixtures in fresh concrete
  • Use vibrators to eliminate air pockets and ensure proper consolidation
  • Maintain clean and safe job sites, including proper disposal of materials
  • Communicate effectively with Foreman regarding materials, issues, and safety concerns
  • Train and assist laborers in finishing techniques and best practices

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience, including 2+ years as a Concrete Finisher
  • Strong knowledge of finishing techniques (trowel, float, broom, edging, jointing, etc.)
  • Ability to read grades, measurements, and job specifications
  • Ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification and First Aid certification
  • Strong math, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience selecting, operating, and maintaining tools and equipment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to lead by example
  • Valid US Drivers License

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including heat over 100ยฐF
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and twist throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
  • Strong physical stamina, coordination, and manual dexterity
  • Ability to safely operate and control tools and machinery with precision
