Job description

Job Title: Print Production Level 3
Location: West Haven, CT
Job Type: Hourly Consultant
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay: $18.12 to $23.76 per hour
Essential Functions:
  • Operate digital, color, high-volume printing, copying, scanning, and office production equipment.
  • Operate standard finishing equipment, including paper cutters, inserters, laminators, hole punchers, folding equipment, and mail equipment.
  • Receive, review, electronically log, estimate, schedule, and track customer production jobs.
  • Perform quality inspections before, during, and after production runs.
  • Problem-solve production, delivery, and output issues to meet customer requirements.
  • Sort and scan hardcopy materials and other media for printed or digital output.
  • Inspect files for fonts, image resolution, registration, and other potential production issues.
  • Optimize document design for quality and reproduction.
  • Integrate variable data files into printed documents using provided templates.
  • Perform file and document conversions using standard software.
  • Track and store customer jobs, including file backups, for future reuse.
  • Apply asset tags to office equipment and maintain related database information.
  • Track and coordinate office equipment moves, additions, and changes at customer accounts.
  • Perform operator maintenance and basic cleaning of office and production equipment.
  • Collect and submit equipment meter reads.
  • Process and distribute incoming and outgoing faxes and maintain billing logs.
  • Process basic forms and update information using a PC.
  • Maintain reporting logs and information required for billing.
  • Collect data and respond to print/copy equipment issues by contacting service personnel through designated PC applications.
  • Engage Xerox and/or third-party vendors to support customer supplies and services as required.
  • Provide minimal training to customer end-users on equipment.
  • Coach and mentor co-workers as needed.
  • May develop work processes or templates.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support customer production requirements.

Skills:
  • Functional knowledge of PCs, including keyboard and mouse functions.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets, use standard formulas, sort and filter data, create graphs, import/export information, embed files, and transfer data between Word and Excel.
  • Ability to locate and use network devices, drives, files, and printers.
  • Ability to send and receive email, locate, open, save, and manage documents and files, and perform data entry.
  • Ability to use web browsers and send documents to preconfigured printers.
  • Basic math skills, including division, multiplication, and percentages.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Business maturity and professionalism.
  • Ability to coach and mentor co-workers.
  • Ability to work independently while following established processes and customer requirements.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service environment.
  • Experience operating digital printers, copiers, scanners, and finishing equipment preferred.
  • Experience in a print production, document management, mailroom, or office services environment preferred.

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-high school technology training or equivalent technical experience required.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
