Full-Time Night Shift (11:00 PM-7:30 AM)

Position Summary:

Responsible for managerial functions of the Collections and Processing departments at MVH.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily leadership to Collections and Processing departments aligned with CompuNet's mission, vision, and values.
  • Develop departmental staffing plans and ensure schedules meet service delivery requirements.
  • Monitor timekeeping and manage department overtime; submit payroll records on time.
  • Assist in developing and managing department budget.
  • Oversee development of training programs and maintain competency assessment records.
  • Interview, select, and oversee training of new employees; manage performance appraisal process.
  • Communicate consistently with staff through meetings, memos, and personal communication.
  • Collaborate with other managers to ensure consistent patient care across shifts.
  • Develop compliance, ergonomic, and safety procedures; ensure departmental compliance with policies.
  • Support customer satisfaction initiatives and positive interaction with internal/external customers.
  • Write and implement procedures for current and new processes.
  • Prepare for accreditation and inspection visits by regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee supply ordering.
  • Promote continuous improvement philosophy (Six Sigma, Lean) to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Participate in CompuNet Management Team, attend meetings, and serve on committees.
  • Perform phlebotomy collections as required.
  • Other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Associates or Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years in phlebotomy with increasing responsibilities in a medical lab.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for fostering a positive environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Ability to multitask and maintain focus amid interruptions.
  • Sound reasoning and independent judgment.
  • Deadline-oriented with excellent communication and people skills.
  • Capable of establishing work priorities and handling multiple procedures simultaneously.

Physical & Safety Demands:

  • Will have exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to safety, ergonomic and health policies of the Company.
  • Comply with all PPE requirements when in the laboratory or other biohazard areas.
  • Complete required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Anticipate safety hazards, act upon unsafe situations and promote safety awareness.
  • Work at a computer for extended periods with good visual acuity and hand-finger dexterity.
  • Perform accurate data entry and analysis in a noisy environment.
  • Read small print on labels.
  • Lift weights up to 20 pounds for up to 50 yards with both hands.
  • Lift weights up to 50 pounds to a height of approximately five feet.
  • Manipulate various collection devices with manual dexterity.
  • Stand for extended periods and walk short distances repeatedly.
  • Work effectively under pressure or in stressful situations.
