Job description

Are you ready to help build and sustain a next-generation MEMS manufacturing line powering advanced genomic sequencing?


Do you take pride in troubleshooting complex equipment, optimizing processes, and ensuring high-quality production?

As a Senior MEMS Manufacturing Technician (Level 4), you will play a critical role in both equipment maintenance and production execution. With new manufacturing tools recently installed, you will help ensure equipment is properly set up, maintained, and operating reliably—while supporting flowcell production in a cleanroom environment.


This is a contract position through an external agency, with the potential to transition to full-time based on performance and business needs.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Production & Equipment Operations (≈80%)

  • Perform daily cleanroom manufacturing processes including wet processing, resist coating, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), mechanical assembly, and visual inspection using high-powered microscopes (brightfield/darkfield)
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain processing equipment such as servo presses, degassers, and wet bench systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and resolve process and equipment issues
  • Support Engineering and Development teams with testing and non-standard processing
  • Ensure consistent product quality and stable production output


Process Improvement & Team Support (≈20%)

  • Train and mentor technicians on production processes and equipment operation
  • Assist in writing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Help establish work standards and optimize production workflows
  • Support yield tracking and reporting using Excel and SPC principles
  • Lead and document continuous improvement initiatives using Kaizen and A3 methodology

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

  • On-site in Sunnyvale, California
  • Cleanroom environment requiring PPE (lab coat, gloves, hair net, face mask)
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds


WHAT YOU WILL BRING US

  • 5+ years of experience in MEMS, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing
  • Strong hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance
  • Experience working with Servo press systems, Degassing systems, Wet bench processing equipment
  • Cleanroom manufacturing experience (contamination control/GMP preferred)
  • Proficiency with high-powered optical microscopes (brightfield/darkfield inspection)
  • Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and SPC principles
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, charting, basic analysis)
  • Experience writing or improving production and equipment procedures
  • Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills


WHAT YOUR EDUCATION LOOKS LIKE

Associate’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field—or equivalent hands-on experience


HOW WE WILL REWARD YOU

The base hourly rate for this contract position is $30.00 to $36.00 per hour, depending on experience.


This is a contract role employed through a staffing agency, with optional employee benefits available.
