The Veteran's Communicare Therapeutic Clinic is seeking dedicated Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) to join our expanding team. This full-time position offers the flexibility to work remotely through our innovative telehealth platform. Our counselors play a pivotal role in providing essential mental health support to our patients, helping them to navigate their emotional and psychological wellness. The annual salary for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 87,000 to 105,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

About the Organization

Located in Lakewood, New Jersey, Veteran's Communicare Therapeutic Clinic has evolved into a full-service healthcare center. We provide a diverse range of medical services, including obstetric care, pediatrics, family planning, general health check-ups, and dental care. Our multi-disciplinary approach positions us to address a broad spectrum of social and mental health issues, ensuring that our patients receive comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs. At our facility, we maintain strict confidentiality and accept Medicaid, Medicare, and a variety of private health insurance plans.

Work Environment

Our work environment is entirely remote, allowing for flexibility in scheduling and the ability to conduct sessions from a secure, confidential setting. Utilizing advanced telehealth technology, our LPCs engage with patients from the comfort of their homes, ensuring continuity of care regardless of geographical limitations. This modern approach enhances accessibility and efficiency, making sure our clients receive timely support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental health and psychosocial concerns, focusing on diagnostic and functional evaluations.
  • Collaborate closely with primary care providers to identify and address mental health needs, ensuring integrated care for our clients.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans, delivering targeted interventions aimed at improving patient outcomes.
  • Monitor patient progress through follow-ups, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to align with patient needs and treatment goals.
  • Create and manage relapse prevention strategies to maintain patients' stability and promote healthier lifestyle choices.
  • Document patient interactions and treatment progress in compliance with confidentiality standards and clinic policies.
  • Provide education and resources that empower patients to take an active role in their recovery process.
  • Regularly communicate with healthcare team members to enhance care coordination and relay critical patient updates.
  • Uphold ethical standards by adhering to the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals, ensuring integrity in all patient interactions.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing insights and recommendations for program enhancement and outcome evaluation.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic serves a diverse patient population, including veterans, families, and individuals in need of mental health services. We focus on addressing various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. By utilizing evidence-based practices, our LPCs play a crucial role in supporting clients through their journey to recovery and improved mental well-being.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling or a related field.
  • Current LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license in the state of New Jersey.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in mental health assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic modalities, including family therapy, group therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
  • Strong understanding of the DSM-IV and contemporary treatment approaches.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Demonstrated mental and physical health suitable to meet role demands.
  • Familiarity with community resource networks and how to effectively leverage them for patient support.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working in a telehealth capacity or with a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in crisis intervention or managing complex mental health cases is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate patient documentation.
Compensation and Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary range of USD 87,000 to 105,000 annually, we are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings options, paid time off, and a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Our clinic emphasizes a work-life balance and offers flexible scheduling to accommodate personal commitments.
