The Senior Data Analyst will support a large AML rule migration by testing the deployment of an additional system into the AML SAS Viya environment. This role is focused on business reporting and analytical judgment, not quantitative modeling or algorithm development.

The line of business supports AML transaction monitoring and compliance for payments data (wires and SWIFT) by developing, validating, and reconciling rule-based reporting. The team ensures migrated rules accurately replicate legacy system outputs, documents discrepancies, and supports regulatory and compliance objectives.

The project involves migrating AML rules/reports from a legacy platform to SAS Viya, implementing new process/data flows into SAS Viya with associated AML Transaction Monitoring Rules/Parameters, performing data load validation, reconciling results at record level, identifying and documenting discrepancies (e.g., data availability, date logic changes), refining SAS Viya logic to align new LOB data flows/products with existing AML Rule Typologies, performing defect identification, root cause analysis support, defect resolution tracking and testing, and producing final, well-documented reconciliation artifacts.

This role will offer insight into SAS Viya 4.0 deployments, AML subject-matter experience, and new banking products/services in a supportive, collaborative environment. The Senior Data Analyst will interact with AML Transformation, Delivery & Insights team members, while having the ability to work with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and validate AML rules in SAS Viya
  • Compare outputs against existing AML Transaction Monitoring rules
  • Investigate discrepancies down to record-level detail
  • Determine whether differences can be resolved or must be documented
  • Produce clear documentation explaining variances and logic changes
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders in clear, business-friendly language
  • Support code development and possess strong SQL skills and Proc SQL (SAS)
Required Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in Data Analytics or Business Reporting
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • AML domain experience
  • Financial services background
  • Payments data experience (preferred): Wires, SWIFT, and payments data more broadly
  • Prior experience with system or rule migrations
  • Familiarity with SAS Viya
  • Python experience
Required Skills
  • Strong SQL (joins, aggregations, CTEs)
  • SAS experience (Base, DATA step, PROC SQL) or strong SQL with ability to adapt to SAS
  • Proven experience interpreting results and explaining "why differences exist"
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate ambiguity into clear requirements
  • Curious and inquisitive, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with a data quality and validation mindset
  • Clear, concise communicator who can present technical findings in business-friendly language
  • Stakeholder-focused and collaborative team player
Benefits
  • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans
  • 401k Retirement Fund
Important Notes
  • Interview process: 1-2 rounds with the Hiring Manager and team via Microsoft Teams; approximately 1 hour in duration
  • Candidates may start while employment history and regulatory credentials are being verified; suppliers have 30 days from the start date to complete verification
  • No regulatory credentials are required to be registered upon start
